In 2024, we made our first strategic investment in Podimo, a rapidly growing digital audio entertainment platform founded in Denmark in 2019. Podimo operates a subscription-based service that provides access to exclusive podcasts, audiobooks, and premium spoken-audio content, creating a strong ecosystem for both creators and listeners.
Podimo has emerged as one of the fastest-growing audio streaming platforms in Europe and Latin America. The company currently operates in seven international markets and has surpassed 1 million paying subscribers globally, reflecting the rapid adoption of premium podcast and audiobook content. The platform generates significant user engagement, with listeners streaming over 15 million hours of content each month, and offers a large catalog that includes thousands of audiobooks and hundreds of exclusive podcast productions.
From a business perspective, Podimo has demonstrated strong growth and investor confidence. The company has raised over $250 million in funding from global investors and generates an estimated annual revenue of approximately $119 million, while continuing to expand its subscriber base and content library. Podimo’s model focuses on supporting creators through fair revenue sharing and investing in local-language content, which has helped it build strong engagement across different regions. The company has already achieved profitability in several of its operating markets and continues to expand its presence internationally.
